2018-February-27 Australia, NSW, Orangeville: Ready To Go Home

We are currently doing our last house sit before we move back home!

Since we arrived back in Australia at the end of October last year we have been doing house sits around Sydney.  This has allowed us to catch up with some of our friends and start putting some of the pieces of the puzzle in place to resume “normal life”.

Anthony managed to get and start a job within 3 weeks of landing back.  The challenge has been working out new transport routes every week or so and managing to look vaguely corporate whilst living out of a suitcase (he did grab some work clothes out of our storage unit as soon as he knew he had the role).
Jean also secured a one year contract starting 5 March.  Both of our jobs are based in North Sydney which is under an hour commute from our house.

Speaking of our house, our tenants have moved out and we will be moving in slowly over the next couple of weeks.  Whilst we have loved being nomads, it is very exciting to be moving back into our own home after 3 years!

We did manage to throw in one last bit of travel this month:  a trip out to South Africa to spend time with Jean’s sister and dad and other friends out there.

This time we made sure that we spent a couple of days in a game park too as we have not done that since our honeymoon in 2003.

Leaving Now

Oh yes, we also spent a couple of days in a treetop campsite celebrating our 15 years of marriage.

Well, as far as our 'Walbok Walkabout' is concerned, it has come to an end (pause?) for now.  Walbok Cottage however, will be occupied soon and we are taking bookings for the spare room from anyone who wants to visit 😊

  2. Enjoy settling in! We are trying to decide now what to do in August when our tenants leave. Having our own space again would be nice.
