After an
overnight ride in a 4-sleeper train compartment we arrived first thing
yesterday morning in Vienna. Uli and
Walter and their delightful daughter, Marta, collected us and we went for
coffee and cake (we are in Vienna afterall!).
We then went to their apartment in the suburbs of Vienna where they are
letting us stay for a week and we chatted for a while. Then they left to go back to their house in
the countryside.
We will
explore this city and catch up with them over the next week but for the first
time on our trip (54 nights so far), we realised we were alone. We went for a walk in the park nearby, came
back to a simple meal of cheese, meat, bread and wine, put on some of our music,
sat quietly and relished the feeling.
