2017-July-10 England, Sheffield: Sculpture Park Worth A Visit

After our stay with Lesley in Glasgow we hired a car and drove to Sheffield to visit Duncan Carruthers (Jean’s friend from Wits University in South Africa) and his wife, Kate.
We had a wonderful weekend with them and Duncs showed us York as well as taking us to the most amazing York Sculpture Park with modern sculptures and acres and acres of beautiful parkland.  They often change the exhibits but when we went they featured the works of British sculptor, Tony Cragg.  If you ever find yourself in this area we would highly recommend a day’s outing – it is free if you take the bus or you pay a few pounds for parking, and you can take a picnic.

These are made of dice!

Duncan reckons this looks like toffee

And finally one of the two “old friends” in York.

After a whirlwind stay in England, we left on Monday morning to head to the French Riviera.
